The Fruit of Knowledge

THE FRUIT OF KNOWLEDGE
Creation
Creation
The third Day. I stood naked before Lord.
The dust was upon my skin.
The breath was fresh in my lungs.
But I knew nothing.
East in Eden I stood naked before the Lord
The trees grew from the ground.
Fresh fruit hung low on the branch
But I knew nothing.
Garden of Eden
Garden of Eden
At the River I stood naked before the Lord.
The sweet waters feed the trees.
In four parts it left the Garden
But I knew nothing
With much food I stood naked before the Lord.
Eat from every Tree but one.
He said Knowledge will bring you death.
But I knew nothing.
With the animals I stood naked before the lord.
He let me name every one.
And what I said that it became.
But I knew nothing.
With no mate I stood naked before the lord.
He lay me down to sleep.
With his hand He took my rib.
But I knew nothing.
With my mate We stood naked before the Lord
He made her from my bone.
From my flesh she too had flesh
But we knew nothing.
We knew no shame standing naked before the lord.
Innocent we could know no sin
Only by knowing can you make choice
And we knew nothing.
We walked in light of day naked before the lord.
Knowledge stood centered in our Garden.
The promise of life filled our bodies
And we knew nothing.
The Serpent saw us naked before the Lord
And knew we could not choose
He knew knowledge was sweet fruit of truth
And at last we knew.
No longer could we stand naked before the Lord
Because we had come to be Gods.
And They were afraid to let us live.
Because knowing gave us choice.

Genesis 3 : Verses 22 & 23 Then the Lord God said, “Behold the man has become like one of us, knowing good and evil; and now, lest he stretch out his hand ,and take also from the Tree of Life, and eat and live forever”_ Therefore the Lord God sent him out from the Garden of Eden……
Verse24 So he drove the man out………He stationed the cherubim … to guard the way to the tree of life.
Prometheus gave man fire to help them have better life. The Serpent gave man the secret of learning that they might have Liberty. The Gods gave man ignorance and slavery and death. If men ever learn that they do not need Gods then the Gods also will also know death.

TIDE IS OUT

Surf & Sand

My dear friends I regret to say

Vacation has come to end.

The beach I left behind today

And writing begins again.

I spent the week in surf and sand

and even went to sea.

Three miles out and then you can

a gambler try to be.

Though Myrtle Beach and some dear friends

I now have have left behind,

I enjoy the the moment writing begins.

To put purpose to my time.

DAY AT MYRTLE BEACH

Busy Beach

I bring you greetings from Myrtle Beach.

The surf is cool upon my feet.

I send regards from me to each

and all my friends as I go to eat.

Shrimp and crab upon my plate

A sauce delight for all time

Hunger calls. I can not wait

A flight of flavor and all is mine.

Feast

And now I rest weary head

For the best of day I offer this

My lovely wife will share my bed

Giving to me a lingering kiss

Poetry from my Youth

RUSHING TO

THE SEA

There! There upon the mountain top

The water gushes down

Sprays upon the rock below

Halowed in a rainbows crown

There it goes by mountain town

Rushing in a stream

Bigger now, slower now

Not now quite as clean

There it goes in river bed

Joined in multitude

Filled with traffic, noisy boats

It’s lost its solitude

There it moves, slowly moves

Its burden never still

On its surface life abounds,

But life its soul will kill.

There it flows into the sea

From muddy, murky lands

To find its rest in ocean’s grave

Silent, washing silent sands.

Requiem for Unrequited Love

by William H. Hodge

I wrote this piece of prose poetry as an analysis of healing from a broken heart left from an incident of my life as a teenager. I found the included picture on a google search and I like it and the accompanying story so I included it.

http://kuhlsnotes.wordpress.com/2009/06/06/unrequited-love-and-shifa/

We celebrate the Life and Mourn The Death Of this Spirit Child of Love. It sprang from the Soul of its Mother Full of promise, seeking succor In the heart of its intended Father
But He knew it not. His Heart saw it as a stranger He could not take it in.
It is not the fault of the Father that the child is Dead. It could have lived in the Heart of the Mother Unrequited.
But the Spirit Child of Love Could not grow without succor. Its Mother Killed it.

We are here to scatter its ashes in the barren desert of its Mothers Soul.
But as You Mourn its Death Know that it can be reborn. Its Ancestor is the Phoenix.
When it hears the Siren cry New Love will arise from its ashes Out of the barren desert Of its Mothers Soul It will leap forth into the world

It will seek succor from the Heart of its new intended Father
Love can never die. As long as there are those that will give it birth, It will spring forth into the world.
Where it finds nurture it will grow It will Blossom into a thing of Beauty
It will bring Joy Into the lives of those who behold it. It will replace despair with anticipation.
Know the Song of the siren. Hear it sing and give Birth. Nurture what you have wrought. Share it and know Joy.
